It's a New Season: Thriving in Restoration

6 min read

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”  And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful” (Revelation 21:5).

“New” can be defined in various ways.  As an adjective, it can mean:

1.   Recently created, or having started to exist recently (now); or

2.   Different to the one that existed earlier; or

3.   Not yet familiar or experienced; or

4.   Not previously used or owned; or

5.   Recently discovered; made known.

An adjective is a word that describes, or tells you more about, a noun which is a person, place, thing, event, day (time).  In this series of conversations, You, as a person, are the noun we’re talking about. Your soul (and its destination) is the place we shall explore. Your life, is the thing we shall describe.  Your transformation is the event we shall celebrate. And Your season is the day (or time) you are moving in right now.

Newness is a noun in different forms: a person (you) walking in newness, a place (your soul’s destiny) of newness, a thing (your life) re-made new, an event (your transformation) marking newness, a day (today, your season) for newness.  Newness also means RESTORATION.  Plant this word deep into your soul because this is what “It’s A New Season” blog series is all about.  Together, we are going to travel boldly into it, uproot and remove the weeds choking it, clear the land and make room for building up the new life—the transformed, restored life—that is meant for you in Jesus Christ.

“Newness” is the quality of being original or being re-made.

Newness is granted to the regenerated soul: After accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, born of water and the Spirit (John 3:5-6), the Bible confirms in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. You, dearly beloved, are a new creation; an original, one of a kind, with no other like you, an original copy of God’s image on earth.

Newness also comes to you, the matured Christian, after experiencing long terms in battles of spiritual warfare as David did in physical warfare, when the Lord sends His ministering angels to restore your soul, and therefore, your life or “inner man” (Read Luke 1:46-55, Psalm 23, Psalm 144:1-7, and Psalm 138).

Would you like to celebrate that together?  That’s exactly what we’re going to do in this “It’s a New Season” blog series.

It’s time to “dance like David”, I mean get ecstatically (filled and rolling over) joyful in the Lord for how far He’s brought you up to now.  The tears may still fall, the scars may still be open, but we are going to intentionally stop that flow and be healed once and for all, for “It’s A New Season”—a new time, a new day; and you must prophesy into your life and declare how you want to live the rest of your life: “I SHALL LIVE AS A VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN!”

Israel and New Breed’s song New Season sings worship to our Lord for the newness I pray to share with you at this time in your life.  Please purchase that song and replay it over and over during this blog series.

This is not a journey for the weak.  Put on God’s Armor (Ephesians 6:10-18), keep bearing His Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and let’s walk by faith and not by sight.

We have an awesome task to complete in this season.
